Strength of Sisters Fellowship

Posts are the original thoughts and writings of Rev. Kelly Bates Oglesby

The future plans are are developing to move Strength of Sisters (SOS) from vision to manifestation. In over twenty years of ministry development and implementation this will be the most broad and dynamic initiative so far. This innovative approach to ministry is also based on the truth of God lived by people who believed and left a lesson, testimony, or song to inspire us along our journey.

Our theme song (rewritten by me, 2011) original version by Edwin S. Ufford, 1888

Throw out the life line across the dark wave;
There is a sister whom someone should save;
Somebody’s sister! O who then will dare
To throw out the life line, her peril to share?

Throw out the life line! Throw out the life line!
Sisters are drifting away;
Throw out the life line! Throw out the life line!
Women are sinking today.

Our Motto: We look into mirrors but we only see the effects of our = times on us--not our effects on others. Pearl Bailey (American singer, actor, author, 1918-1990)

Our foundational scriptures: Luke 8:1-3, Joshua 2:12-13, Acts 1:8, and Acts 2:16-18

Women need and want to know how to live their faith in everyday life. How they can best support one another and realize their fullest potential SOS Fellowship will provide the practical personal, social, and economic information and resources needed integrated with and established on godly principles from the Word of God. SOS Fellowship will infuse Christian truth and present timeless biblical approaches to contemporary troubles.

April 30 is the first experience just to see how many will actually support what they tell me that they want and need.

Pray with me as this is a Holy Spirit led initiative to strength our effort to transform the world through living and sharing the truth of the purpose and promise of Jesus the Christ our Lord and Savior.

Pray for your schedule to allow you to participate and ask the Holy Spirit to help you discipline yourself to keep your commitment to be part of the edifying and enjoyable fellowship with women who are or can be your sisters in Christ.

Pray for women who do not know Christ to feel inclined to join in the fellowship, we want to love God by living in such a way that our love leads others to Christ.

Pray for resources, workers, prayer warriors, and gifted sisters to collaborate in leading and sustaining this ministry effort.

Pray for me that as founder of SOS Fellowship that I will live and serve in such a way that others see my good works and glorify my Father who is in heaven always.
